Apollo was the son of Zeus, king of all the gods. His mother was the gentle Leto. Apollo had a twin sister, Artemis, the huntress. Apollo had lots of jobs in the ancient Greek god world. One of them was to bring up the sun. Another was to watch over music and musicians. Apollo was a gentle god. But he could lose his temper if provoked enough. When he did, Apollo always got even in very clever ways.

Minerva is described as being the goddess of wisdom, science, war and arts, such as spinning, weaving and music.
A major Goddess and one of the 'Dei Consentes', the Council of Gods.
Her followers used the The owl, the snake and the olive tree as symbols for her
The name 'Mentor' was assumed by Minerva to act as a guide for Telemachus,

Visit to Leeds City Museum

Year 3 had lots of fun learning about the Ancient Egyptians at Leeds City Museum. They all loved seeing the real dead mummy and mummifying a pretend mummy. They also made an amulet which will hopefully bring good luck. It was lovely to hear the children say they all had a fantastic day.
