East Leeds SILC Partnership (closed from Jul 2018)

Here at Kippax Ash Tree we were very proud of the partnership we had with the East SILC (Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre) as this builds on our ethos of Inclusion.

How did the partnership work?

We had a small group of children from the East SILC who attended Kippax Ash Tree every day. This group of children spent some lessons in their 'base' classroom, where they were taught by staff from the East SILC. The children benefited from the multi-sensory learning and total communication approaches used. For some lessons, the children accessed the mainstream provision with their mainstream peers. During this time they were supported by staff from the East SILC. To access this provision, you should now directly contact East Leeds SILC on the link below.

"The East SILC offers exciting learning opportunities for children aged between 3 – 19 with a range of complex learning difficulties. Some of our pupils are on the autistic spectrum, have complex medical needs or who because of their communication difficulties become anxious and struggle to engage. All are our priority, and through outstanding staff and a thirst to deliver innovative and creative learning, we are proud to say we meet the needs of all our young people, helping them to achieve their maximum potential."
